A Pen Woman member since 1976, Travel and Outdoor Writer, multiple award winner Sandy Huff has visited 68 countries, and published over 1,000 articles, and several books (Her 2001 "Paddler's Guide to the Sunshine State" sold over 8,000 books, and the updated 2022 edition (with 60 guest authors) requested by University Press of Florida is already on its top seller lists.
Born and raised in Florida, Sandy has taught paddling, writing, sailing, and has paddled 91 of Florida's named rivers, and a bunch that were nameless. She's visited 68 countries and written about all of them. She is a Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, certified scuba diver, Master tree farmer, Mentors at her local middle school, and sings alto in her church choir. Her college days resulted in an Associate degree in secretarial science, a Bachelors degree in Business education, and a Master of Arts degree in Communications.
"Rubbing elbows with the joyful creative women in NLAPW has opened so many doors and opportunities to me," Sandy says. "Without my Pen Women friends I'd probably be sitting at home and making hundreds of quilts! What I'm doing in stead is soooo much more fun!"
